Hollow Piston Rods

In hydraulic cylinders, pneumatic cylinders, and electric actuator systems, piston rods must handle frequent movement, load transmission, and precise motion requirements. Hollow piston rods provide customers with more design flexibility when weight reduction, internal routing, or special structural requirements are part of the application.

Compass Power Tech manufactures hollow piston rods using material grades such as 4140, 4340, 1020, SUJ2, and ST52 (E355). Main available grades also include GCr15, 20 steel (1020), 45 steel (1045), 4140, and Q345B (ST52), supporting different requirements for strength, machinability, wear resistance, and cost control.

These hollow rods can be processed into hydraulic cylinder rods, pneumatic cylinder rods, electric cylinder rods, and actuator push rods. By offering hollow tube options alongside solid rod solutions, Compass Power Tech helps customers develop more flexible component designs while matching the required mechanical performance and final working conditions.

Packaging and Storage

To protect hollow piston rods during sea freight and storage, Compass Power Tech uses anti-rust paper tube packaging. Before wrapping, anti-rust oil is applied evenly to the rod surface, and anti-rust wax is applied inside the paper tube. This protective process helps reduce corrosion risk during transportation and ensures customers receive high-quality rods in stable, ready-to-use condition.
